The crew is essentially the same, although the fourth couple is different. Doug and Sandy are replacing Carolyn and George. Doug and Sandy aren't strangers to us; they joined us on the St. Lucia-Martinique-Dominica and back trip. The boat is a little different--it's a 46-foot Moorings Exclusive (instead of a 45-foot). And get this...it has air conditioning! It's a bit more expensive, but after sweltering on the Guadeloupe trip, I think it will be worth it. No more
We're flying out early tomorrow and, the fates willing, we won't have any problems with our American Airlines flight. The planes that we're on are not MD-80s. Keep your fingers cross that we'll arrive in Placencia without incident.
Once there, we'll hang out for a couple of days before picking up the boat Monday night. We plan to spend some time at the Purple Space Monkey Cafe (how I love that name!), which is an Internet cafe. I don't know if that means they've got computers for rent or if you have to BYOC. If they've got computers, you might very well find me blogging at the beginning, perhaps middle, and end of the trip. As always, I'll keep a travel diary and will update the blog with pictures when we return.
Hasta la vista, baby!
